"we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained"

Sony says:

"When the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services are fully restored, we strongly recommend that you log on and change your password. Additionally, if you use your PlayStation Network or Qriocity user name or password for other unrelated services or accounts, we strongly recommend that you change them, as well. To protect against possible identity theft or other financial loss, we encourage you to remain vigilant, to review your account statements and to monitor your credit reports."

And continues later:

"At no charge, U.S. residents can have these credit bureaus place a “fraud alert” on your file that alerts creditors to take additional steps to verify your identity prior to granting credit in your name. "

That helps if your truly worried.

Oh, and guys, another information source:

http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/gx6o4/im_a_moderator_over_at_psxscenecom_the_real/

-Note the title "I'm a moderator over at PSX-Scene.com - The real reason PSN is down. "

Other news is that Anonymous claims it wasn't them:

"For Once We Didn't Do It

While it could be the case that other Anons have acted by themselves AnonOps wa not related to this incident and takes no responsiblity for it. A more likely explination is that Sony is taking advantage of Anonymous' previous ill-will towards the company to distract users from the fact the outage is accutally an internal problem with the companies servers."

And finish theyr invoice with "Sony is incompetent"

Sorry for all the quoting Razz

Anonymous wouldn't be responsible for this, thats for sure. They are busy with more realistic political issues right now, which it probably best not to discuss bout them.

Whoever hacked it got every bit of information every PSN user had put in. Names, cities, addresses, and most likely credit card info.
